Happy First Birthday Phoenix!

Phoenix Turns ONE!

I was honoured to be asked to attend Phonenix's first Birthday party to take pictures.  This is my 4th time working with the little guy, so as always, it's a pleasure to see him grow into the happy little boy he is!

This photo shoot is a little bit different than most, as it is ALL candid.  With one year olds you never know if you'll be getting the back of them all day, as they're usually always on the move.  But in true Phoenix style, he hammed it up for me and I got some great shots of the day.  It was nice to see the family put their cameras down & enjoy these moments, leaving the view from behind a screen to me.  :)

Phoenix, you are so so sweet, it is so obvious how much love surrounds you!   Happy First Birthday buddy!

Check out some photos of the day;

Lots of love,

Rylan: 6 months with Big brother Logan

I have been taking pictures of baby Rylan since 3 months BB (BB= before birth)  Yep I made that up!  :)  The Murphy's have been one of my most dedicated clients & I am just LOVING being there for all of baby R's milestones!

Photos were TOO easy this day!  Rylan is so calm and easy going.  Smiles were not hard to come by. And a total 10 on cuteness, right?  Big bro Logan made me laugh for weeks (his expressions are to die for) and working with families on multiple occasions sets the tempo for the day.  Easy Peasy!   Just another day of loving what I do!

Bigggg shout outs to Dizzy Stitch Crochet for the cute owl hat (I love that you always envision what I want).

Thanks Michelle & Shane for having me back to share in these moments!  I am looking forward to July & 1 year photos!

Why I do what I do!

Since my blog is new, I just wanted to share with you a bit of history!

Besides the obvious, I love art, I love photos, I love making people happy, I love capturing memories....there is a big reason I do what I do!  That reason is Amanda Lachapelle Photography!

When I got married back in July, 2010 I had to choose a photographer.   After hours upon HOURS of viewing photos, crying at blogs, interviewing photographers, I ended up choosing Amanda to take my photos!  Her photos made me fall in love with the art over & over!

Soon after my wedding (and feeling the wrath of having nothing weddingish left to do) Amanda started asking for potential second shooters to work with her.  Me, having NO experience other than with a point & shoot camera, asked Amanda if she'd be willing to teach me, if I bought the equipment to work with her!    She said YES!!!

Someone who I thought was the best, was willing to help me!  Woooohoooo!   And so on and so on.  Amanda & Samantha (another photographer who work for Amanda) patiently took me under their wings, brought me out to weddings, taught me how to use that darn camera & taught me the art of editing.  They were there to answer tedious questions, deal with panicked calls when I started booking my own clients & encouraged me the whole way through!

Now, I know it seems like, ok so they hired you..  but..  they didn't just hire me, they walked me through, they helped me with advice & gave me feedback both negative & positive to help me grow.  They helped me, do something I love & never made me feel like I was a burden or a competition.  (Which I'm not..  Working with Amanda & Sam is my first priority)  But of course I love getting out there and putting my own spin on things and growing independently.  Anyways, finding other photographers to do this is RARE!

SOOOO..  Thank you Amanda for giving me a chance!  Thanks to both Amanda & Sam for teaching me!  I still have tons to learn!  :)

Don't forget to give Amanda your love!  Like her Facebook page, Amanda Lachapelle Photography and visit her website to see her amazing work.

If you book, tell them I sent you & maybe I'll see you on your wedding day!!!  :)

Fun in the Snow with Christine & Greg

I was thrilled when Christine approached me to take photos for her upcoming wedding in August.  Christine & Greg have been together, umm  lets just say FOREVER!  And this special day will just confirm the love these two have for each other & their adorable family!

Christine wanted engagement photos in the snow...easy enough...most years!  Thank goodness to the snow Gods for finally giving us snow!!!

Check out some of the images we captured at Balls Falls on a snowy day in January....

Could you be anymore in love???

Looking for to August 11th, 2012!  Congratulations Christine & Greg!!

Welcome & Thank you!!!

Welcome to my new blog!!

I have been working all year to teach & educate myself, so I can take your beautiful pictures!  I really do owe it to all of my wonderful friends & family who have given me more support than I could EVER imagine!  Thank you for letting me test my abilities on you, for all the outsourcing and most of all for your patience & support!  I have been invading your Facebook space, been absent for most social events & you have patiently looked through all my photos and given me your nods of approval!

I appreciate it all and love you all for it!

In the next few months, I would like to get up a website up, but for now I think a blog will keep my photos up to date & allows everyone to pass my blog site on, so potential clients have a place to view my up to date work.

All of your feedback is SO much appreciated!  So stop in anytime & tell me what you think!
